Description

  • The Saw Guardian is a specialized logging machine primarily characterized by its massive circular saw. In addition to serving as both a production tool and an engineering vehicle, it is noteworthy for being a military mech specialized in combat. The success of the "OT-43" Combat Furnace concept demonstrated the potential for converting engineering vehicles into assault vehicles.
  • Gerson, the commander of the Yggdrasill Legion, continued to apply his ingenuity in on-site weapon modifications. The "ST-47" Saw Guardian was designed from the outset as an engineering vehicle with combat capabilities in mind. The upper frame, consisting of the cockpit and mechanical arms, shares the same modular design as the Combat Furnace, ensuring interoperability, ease of maintenance, and practicality in reconfiguration.
  • Although the upper frame is similar, compared to the "vehicle" form of the Combat Furnace, the quadrupedal design of the Saw Guardian clearly establishes it as a "mech" form. While it is somewhat cumbersome and does not rely on tracks and flamethrowers for assault like the Combat Furnace, its four legs and claw arms offer greater flexibility in combat.
  • Without needing reconfiguration, the Saw Guardian can perform production tasks such as logging to acquire materials, conduct engineering tasks to clear paths, and excel in melee defense. Even when encountering Chimeric Beasts, it can protect itself during operations. Its multifunctionality exceeded the expectations of its designer, Gerson, who is preparing to deploy it for tasks such as repairing Turtle-style mobile fortresses or rescuing Divine Soldiers.
